Course 1 of Colorful Findings will teach you what you need to know to get started with dyeing with acid dyes. The course offers key methods, materials, and activities to enable you to build and expand your dyeing skills. ALL levels are welcome.

  • Do I have to have previous experience with fabric dyeing before I take this class?

    No, all skills are welcome. Each session provides step-by-step lessons for what to buy, how to get started, and methods for dyeing with acid dyes. A detailed supply list is provided after enrollment to guide you in purchasing the correct materials.

  • When does the class start and do I have to be present at a particular time?

    The class launches on August 29, 2020. Once you are enrolled you will be able to access the class homepage to begin the course. The course is self-paced so you can access it at any time during the enrollment period to learn and experiment at your own pace.

  • How do I interact with the instructor and other students in the class?

    In addition to built in discussion sections within the class, the instructor will host 2 live Zoom sessions for students to learn, share, and to do show-and-tell. Zoom sessions are in EST .

  • How long will I have access to the class?

    All students have access to the class for 1 year.

Deborah Grayson

Deborah is an experienced painter, printmaker and sewist behind who often uses her own hand-dyed and printed textiles in her work. After learning to sew lingerie from some fantastic instructors, she began to apply her knowledge of fabric dyeing to creating brightly colored findings and fabrics for her own projects and for other sewists.
